I couldn't agree more! I actually did like the shuriken weapon from the AVP movie and I loved the look at the predator homeworld in AVPR. That being said there's plenty of things I didn't like as well but that's no reason not to give credit to the nice little gems they did bring.

Thanks for stopping by this dead little tomb again after 10 years btw

I haven't dared to see it yet after the trailer felt to me like just another AvP:R or similar deal, nor the last Alien Covenant one. With each new film I feel I just get more disappointed and it just takes me further and further away from the original films I loved, and turns me off more and more to the whole franchise.

But I guess two semi-positive reviews here on the Predator Sequel does count for something at least so maybe I'll give it a quick peek at some point. Glad to hear it doesn't seem to have been complete garbage anyway

Forgot about the forum a bit again but I suppose it couldn't hurt to bump this and say Merry Christmas again anyway

Hey there, long time, welcome back to Freaks!

I wouldn't say the opinion is "very" different to my own, as I also don't feel all refugees seeking help should be denied just because of a few rotten apples in the basket. However, I do think it's a pretty mindbogglingly ineffective form of help to basically import large parts of far away countries populations all the way up to northern Europe to house them here, especially since it's currently wearing down particularly our economy to where anything from railroads and general infrastructure to police forces and hospitals are now failing to a very noticable degree due to lack of resources and funds.

I really do think all the money we spend on taking 1 refugee here would be better spent helping 10 or more refugees closer to their original home lands, especially since it tends to be the stronger and more well off younger males who come here, leaving the truly poor and helpless, and the women and the children, behind.

As you point out, I just think there has to be a better long term solution to fixing the problems at home so ALL the people who live in the conflicted countries could be "saved", rather than just the rather large handful that makes it all the way up here. But it's certainly not an easy problem either way you look at it.

Argh!

Well, we shall see how it turns out I suppose. At least Shane was involved with the original and will hopefully want something closer to that look brought back.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds that's for sure. Things are deteriorating fast here as a result of all these lovely refugees we are now swamped with, girls are getting gang raped right and left, huge increase in general violent crime and all the politicians and the leftist media are doing is blaming men collectively (while strongly insinuating it's only the white ones of northern descent who are the real problem).

Glorious times lay ahead

Well, over a year later and this one is getting close to start filming now, in september if I'm not mistaken. Definitely sounds like it should be a lot more true to form and the original story from the first two films, so still pretty excited about this one and looking forward to what the next few months will reveal.

Only thing that sounds potentially scary is an interview clip I saw where Shane Black did not want to comment on whether there would be any "female predators" in the film. That angle could potentially turn out disastrous if they do go down that road. Brings up disturbing images of something like the "sexy gremlin" with wrist claws in my head

I definitely agree that Han and Leia seemed to have been thrown in mostly to draw in older fans, same as with Chewbacca really. The Luke connection still seems pretty intriguing to me though so I hope they don't mess that up in the next one.

Daisy Ridley in general I liked pretty well, but on the other hand I've never been a huge fan of the Tomb Raider series so I don't have a lot of feelings on it really. I'd probably still see it though.

And yes Darth Maul would be hard to beat as a bad guy at this point. I also *really* didn't like that they made Kylo Ren sort of an intentionally weak and disturbed personality. I'm sure they felt it added emotional depth or whatever but I just felt it took away from what the character could have been. He just didn't seem like a particularly great or scary threat at all compared to previous siths.
